The entrepreneurial spirit is thriving at UC Berkeley and there’s no better proof than the impressive list of companies launched by UC Berkeley students and alumni.
UC Berkeley students and alumni have founded some of the most well-known brands in the world, including Apple, Tesla, Ebay, Intel, Gap, Powerbar, Guitar Hero, EA Sports, Rotten Tomatoes, Sun Microsystems, and many more. They continue to launch venture-backed companies, including Redfin, Blue Nile, Indiegogo, Cloudera, Revolution Foods, and many others.
UC Berkeley boasts a number of incubators for students, including SkyDeck and The Foundry @ Citris. There are also plenty of competitions that offering funding, including LAUNCH: the UC Berkeley Startup Competition and Global Social Venture Competition, which each offer over $50,000 in prize money. As a result, there are a tremendous number of start-ups brewing on campus right this moment. In fact, the BEA leadership team alone is involved in 6 new ventures.
